Jerusalem-born singer and violinist Michael Greilsammer performed an extraordinary tribute to the songs of Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach. The performance comprised a combination of well-known Carlebach songs alongside the popular songs of Michael and Shimrit Greilsammer.

Michael was born in Jerusalem to immigrant parents from France and Belgium; in a traditional, bilingual home with a deep love of music and culture. In his teens, Michael drifted away from his classical music roots and began exploring new musical genres including Irish, reggae, and rock music.

Throughout his career Michael has performed with veteran Israeli-Irish band Black Velvet and collaborated with numerous well-respected musicians such as Berry Sakharof, Alma Zohar, Hatikva 6, Alon Oleartchik, and Mosh Ben Ari.

In 2009, Michael released his first album, Mitorer- Je me réveille, in Israel and France under the prestigious French label Naïve.  As a result of the album’s success, Michael was chosen as the opening act for world famous musicians such as Ziggy Marley, Amadou et Mariam, and Macy Gray, and appeared on stage with leading musicians from Ireland, the Caribbean Islands, and others. In 2015 he produced a tribute concert to the songs of Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach which he brought to Night Stroll and took on a tour of the United States in 2017.
