The best of roots reggae from Jamaica made the pilgrimage to Zion

For a Rastafarian, Zion is much more than a point on the map. It is a utopian place of peace, freedom and unity. It is the Promised Land to which all of the children of Israel will come, and is mentioned in hundreds, if not thousands, of reggae songs, of all types and from every era. When reggae is played in the holy city, and heavenly Jerusalem meets with earthly Jerusalem, ya man, amen.

Straight from Jamaica of the early 1960s, two of the veteran and most active roots bands came to Zion, led by the charismatic soloist Norman Grant and Ijahman Levi, a member of the Rastafarian movement. With more than 60 albums released over the years, the bands are deeply rooted in reggae, together with soul music, groove and gospel.

The live band was backed by One A Way Hi Fi, with a unique and deep-rooted selection.
