This year, we offer you a concentrated festival comprising, almost entirely, of original productions that will flood the imagination with additional, possible realities. A festival that curates reality through meticulously produced artworks, expands your mind and also tries, wherever possible, to influence that reality in return. During the three weeks of Mekudeshet 2018—and actually at any given moment—we try to go back to our roots, to the spring or the heart of the city, and to call on everyone who believes—no matter what—to come to Jerusalem, to come find what is sacred for them, to come in peace.Tongues of Fire
A journey that begins amid secret shelving, moves on to a promising classroom and ends underground.
A journey by foot and on tracks. Journey no. 1 was created, adapted and crafted for the benefit of those who did not grow up here. It looks at Jerusalem from the sidelines, from the perspective of someone who chose to join us from the other side of the ocean. If this description fits you then this is the journey for you.
Dissolving Boundaries, Mekudeshet’s flagship event, attempts to turn Jerusalem and the people who make up the city into raw material. To draw from a reality that exists 365 days a year in order to create an artistic experience that unfolds along the seamline between documentary and performance. It identifies, highlights, strengthens and accentuates the phenomena, places and people who make Jerusalem into a living laboratory that seeks out creative solutions to Jerusalem’s most daunting challenges. And then creates from all of this original thought and activism a work of art that also creates change—in consciousness and on the ground.

Out of the five personalities we will meet in journey no. 1, two took part in the journeys in 2016. The rest of the journey is completely new.
In any case, we can assure you that the new journey will be just as fascinating.
